Hazelnut Ice Cream
You don't need a mile-long list of ingredients to create delicious desserts, as this simply irresistible hazelnut ice cream proves.
Servings: 6-8
Total Time: 9hours 10mins
Ingredients:
1½ cups heavy whipping cream
¾ cup granulated sugar
1½ cups whole milk
Scrapings of 1 vanilla bean
8 medium eggs yolks
⅓ cup hazelnut liqueur
Directions:
1. Add the cream, sugar, milk, and vanilla scrapings to a saucepan over moderately high heat and bring to a boil. Take off the heat.
2. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour then the hot cream into the egg yolks while whisking continually. Return the mixture to the saucepan and place over moderately high heat.
3. Cook the mixture for several minutes while stirring to form custard.
4. Strain the liquid into a bowl and stir in the hazelnut liqueur.
5. Chill the mixture for 2-3 hours until cold through.
6. Transfer the mixture to your ice cream churner and process using manufacturer instructions.
